In 1955, GOODFIRE STOVES CORPORATION came out with a revolutionary concept in kerosene stoves, employing gravity to eliminate the need for air to be pumped in while cooking.
The Gravity Type (GF-2) kerosene stove is the brainchild of inventor Enrique Laguinia, who took inspiration from the hanging dextrose bottles used in hospitals, which he had first come across when he served as a hospital aide during World War II.
Thinking something could be done to make women’s cooking chores easier, Mr. Laguinia used the idea from the dextrose bottles to invent the GF-2 kerosene stove.
Instead of pumping in air every time the stove will be used, all one has to do with the GF-2 is fill the tank with kerosene, hang the fuel tank, and you are ready to cook.
